Miley Cyrus has had a a classic good girl turned bad career move that was highly publicized with her performance at the MTV video music awards. Her provocative exposure and movements were scandalous, but the media couldn't stop talking about it. This was not a random snap, but the result of years derailed from Miley's older persona as a Disney star. While other former stars of Disney have had similar break off from their Disney days, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera for example, her was memorable for the "twerking". Critics have had many analyzes of her show at the MTV awards: expressing their approval for a career move and distaste for her lack of self respect. Miley's bold performance made her latest album "Bangerz" No. 1 on Billboard's chart. However it has alienated most of her loyal fans from earlier days.
Ms. Cyrus clearly is ambitious, she used the classic sex sells to further her career. I cannot imagine how this experience was positive for her, relying on the publicity that ran on her scandalous appearance. She has set herself up in a situation where her career relies more upon her antics than on the music she produces as an artist. This can be similar to how terrorist groups act collectively. They both run on negative shows to obtain what they desire, but are doomed in the long run because to gain support their demonstrations have to escalate. The negative impact of their acts eventually disgust and repel the supporters. An example of this cycle is the former Front de liberation du Quebec, which sought the independence of Quebec, but was suppressed with huge support after the revolting strangulation and treatment of Pierre Laporte. Miley Cyrus' fame may have increased a google, but at what price no one can say.
